26th Annual Wellness Day

Inline image 1On March 9th Seneca Schools and the S.H.A.R.E Youth Leadership group held the 26th annual Wellness Day.  There were four large assemblies which featured the always popular Mike McGowan, Jamie Nutter-Fennimore’s Superintendent, Kennedy Markuson- a childhood cancer survivor and the Brave New Workshop Student Union Improv Showcase.  There were also a variety of mini- sessions students could attend featuring speakers about nutrition and exercise, team building activities, Serving others, drug and alcohol abuse, yoga, realities of social media, and problem solving. Students had a chance to do some improvisation and emergency preparedness activities in double sessions.  It was a fact filled and fun filled learning experience where all students gained valuable information that they could use in their daily lives.  Thanks to the S.H.A.R.E Youth Leadership group, alumni, faculty, cooks, and S.H.A.R.E. advisor Diane Yager for all the hard work that goes into preparing this annual event.  Students learned that attitude and determination can make a big difference in your life no matter what the obstacles one may have to endure on a daily basis.  Strategies to deal with daily struggles and how to succeed despite those struggles was the theme of the day.
