2017 Wellness Day

The Seneca High School Youth Leadership Group, S.H.A.R.E., is excited to be sponsoring the district's 27th Annual Wellness Day on Wednesday, March 8th, 2017. This program is the longest running youth-led wellness program in the state of Wisconsin.  The day’s activities will start at around 9:45 A.M. and end at around 3:15.  We are excited to be hosting three large assembly speakers and ten presenters for mini sessions. This year our confirmed keynote speakers include Mike McGowan from Pewaukee, Wisconsin. Mike is back again this year to provide both keynote presentations and mini sessions to help our students make positive, more informed choices for themselves concerning potential risks in their lives. Another exciting speaker we are hosting is Miss Wisconsin 2016, Courtney Pelot. Courtney will be promoting her platform “Open Books, Open Opportunity: Promoting Literacy in Our Communities” while also performing for the studentsOur third keynote speaker will be world renowned humorist/hypnotist Terry DaVolt. Terry has spent over 30 years educating youth by using humor, integrity and ethics to engage them in activities. Terry’s presentation starts around 1:45 and is open to the public. The rest of the Wellness Day’s activities will include several mini-sessions on drug abuse prevention, resiliency, mental health, meditation, health eating, and fitness related topics the students will attend.
