District Geography Bee

Storie Recker, a 6th grader in the Seneca Middle School, recently won the school's competition of the National Geographic Bee on January 26th. Storie now has the chance to take a test to qualify for the State Geographic Bee in Madison on April 1 and has a chance at a $50,000 college scholarship if she would qualify for and win the National Geographic Bee. Storie is the daughter of Jon and Terry Recker.

The school level Bee, at which students answered questions on geography content, was the first round in the 28th annual National Geographic Bee. In Wisconsin, over 1,500 schools compete in this contest.The finals for the National Geographic Bee will be aired on PBS and the National Geographic Channel in May. Placing second and third in Seneca's school level contest were Nicholas Kirchhoff and Sarah Lenzendorf.
