S.H.A.R.E Youth Leadership Delivers 242 Holiday Gift Baskets

The 18th annual holiday gift basket project was a big success, thanks to many hours of baking, organizing and delivering throughout Crawford County.  The Seneca youth leadership group in the middle and high school spends many hours bringing a little bit of joy to many households. The preparation begins many weeks in advance. Community businesses and organizations are very generous with donations of money and items for the project.  S.H.A.R.E students and community volunteers baked over 260 loaves of bread and over 2,800 cookies for the baskets. In addition the baskets and bags were filled with fruit, food, post it notes, hot chocolate and a variety of gifts too numerous to mention. Once the baking and packing is done the deliveries begin. S.H.A.R.E adviser, Diane Yager organizes a group of drivers and routes.  The packages are delivered to families all over the area who might need a little bit of Christmas cheer to brighten the season. The S.H.A.R.E. group would like to thank all the individuals and businesses in the community who make this project possible every year.
