On Friday, November 11, the school hosted a Veteran’s Day program, to show all veterans our appreciation for their service to our country. Fifteen area veterans were our guests at the program, and all students grades PK-12 participated. The elementary students led us in the “Pledge of Allegiance”, and contributed a song. Some of our middle school students recited a poem, and we were entertained by a number of selections played by our high school band.

It is important to set this day aside each year to honor and recognize our veterans for the sacrifices they have made.  Freedom is never free; there is a cost associated with it.  America is the greatest country in the world, but it is not that way by happenstance:  it was made that way by generations of Americans. Our veterans have sacrificed, so that each of us can have the privilege of living our life the way we choose.

Thank you to all who made our Veteran’s Day Program possible: to all the students who performed for us, to Mr. Davies and the high school band for their selections,  and to all the staff members who contributed to the program that day. Most importantly, thank you veterans for the sacrifices you have made in your individual lives, in order to defend our way of life!  Please keep all veterans: both those who have defended our country in the past, and those who are currently defending our country, in your thoughts as we move forward this year.
